ACC TROPHY CHALLENGE took place in the northern Thai city of Chiang Mai between January 12, 2009 and January 21, 2009. Eight teams took part in the tournament and they were divided into two groups (Group A - Oman, Bhutan, Brunei, Myanmar; Group B - Thailand, Iran, Maldives, China). Oman beat Bhutan in the final to emerge Champion. Maldives finished 3rd, Thailand 4th, Iran 5th, Brunei 6th, China 7th and Myanmar 8th.

M.B.S. Shaik Abdul Cader is a Right Hand Batsman and Fast Bowler, was selected to play for Thailand national team.

Thailand played their first match in the tournament against much stronger Maldives on January 12, 2009 and won by 6 runs. Shaik scored 20 runs in 27 balls with 1 boundary in the match. He also bowled one over - conceding 6 runs.

Thailand played their second match in the tournament against China on January 15, 2009 and won by 8 wickets. Shaik did not bowl or bat in the match.
