Kayalpatnam has two major via-road entries - one leading from Trichendur in the
south, the other from Arumuganeri in the North.
The Northern route via Arumuganeri is
the route taken by the State Transport buses. It's usually
given a skip since a bye-pass route takes one directly to
Kayalpatnam. It is about a Kilometre longer than the
straight route, but since you skip people, cars, cycles
and bullock carts, you reach early too. Take this
route at unearthly hours and be frisked by Coastguard police
manning this entry :-(
