Kayal on the Web went online on December 20, 1998. With a few pages of static information, its journey began. The news about the Website was passed on through words of mouth and emails to friends and friends of friends. Ten years on, Kayalpatnam.com has nearly 1400 registered users and receives over 1.5 million pageviews per year, Alhamdulillah!

Over the years, Kayal on the Web has introduced a wide variety of content: News about Weddings, Deaths, New Births, Images, Jummah Bayans, Discussion Board and lots more. Yet, it was for the news about Kayalpatnam for which the users visited Kayal on the Web the most for. For nearly 8 years, Master Computer Academy has been updating the news straight from Kayalpatnam. We acknowledge the help rendered by Mr.Malik and Mr.Mohamed Ali all these years. It is wonderful of them. Since last year, Mr.S.K.Salih has also been updating the news from Kayalpatnam. We thank him too!

Thanks are also due to Kayalpatnam professionals (Mr.Hameed Sultan, Mr.Javed Nazeem, Mr.Imthias, Mr.Seyed Ibrahim, Dr.Kizhar, Dr.Ziyad Abubacker, Dr.Meerasahib and Dr.P.M.Syed Ahamed) - who have spared their valuable time all these years - to answer queries in the Q&A section of the Website. We thank them!

We thank various Kayal organisations - both in India and overseas - for supporting us enthusiastically, by providing us news, views and timely suggestions. We value that!

Since 2006, Kayalpatnam.com has been hosting advertisements. These advertisements are the primary sources of revenue for The Kayal First Trust, the charitable Trust that now owns Kayalpatnam.com. We thank our advertisers for their support!

Through advertisements in two of the Websites (Kayalpatnam.com and ToppersTalk.com), The Kayal First Trust generates revenue for its various activities. The annual contribution of the Trustees also form part of the Trust's budget. In the financial year 2006-2007, The Kayal First Trust generated Rs.17,400 through advertisements. In 2007-2008, this rose to Rs.39,800 and in the current financial year, we hope to touch Rs.1,20,000. None of the expenses of the Trustees are covered in the budget. The Trust's accounts are audited by a reputed Chartered Accountant.

In addition to Media, The Kayal First Trust has focussed on Education (Meet The State Toppers event was conceived by the Trust, this year we disbursed scholarships through Iqra Educational Society), Health Awareness Programs and Youth (Kayalpatnam Astronomy Society). We at The Kayal First Trust hope to diversify and cover hitherto untouched areas, Insha Allah, in the coming year. The vision of The Kayal First Trust is to develop and offer a wide spectrum of services, experiences from which - could stand and serve as model for other societies to possibly replicate.

As we step into a new decade, we look forward to the continued support of everyone who had made the journey of the last ten years possible. If we err, let us know. If we are found wanting, let us know. Oh yes, the current design is old and a new one is due for long. Insha allah, we should have it early in the New Year :-)
