I did hear before, the much touted Ummu Numaira’s article and the subsequent buzz and excitement created around it. But I chanced to read it the article only very recently.
Throughout your essaying journey, you almost took us all together with you; the breeze and the sunshine that enveloped you, did also embrace u too ! This seem to be an unique, distinctive style and slide in your essay; the amazing part of it is your cosiness’ to carry along us - the readers – by the style that is singularly, quite different; the essay takes us through your own selected terrain; as if we are with you, all through the narration; clearly hearing you the pleasantries, murmurs, complaints, requests , sighs, and smiles to simply feel with whatever expressions & manoeuvres , you are involved in; yes ,you completely took us over, by the vivid and variant style.
Your language is simple and clear; you speak in passionate & heart-warming words; you intersperse your dialogue with sparkling, Qur’anic edicts, erudite Prophet’s dictions, down-to-earth witticisms, criticisms, humour, barbs and bouquets. It is so very nice, simple & serene!
The message you propose to propagate is very basic, frank & forthright: Never ever lose an opportunity to ignore a simple help or big, to duly recognize , with words like Maasha Allah, Alhamdu Lillah, Jazakallah, Thank you, Nandri , etc . I am myself a little wanting in this aspect and shall surely make amends soon, In Shaa Allah. Maasha Allah, a great message, Ummu Numaira, Jazakallah.
On a personal note, I add that you have been a priceless pride and possession of our family, in terms of your god-gifted flair, knack and knowledge of the literary and Islamic theology in you. You are my granddaughter, by virtue of being the granddaughter of my paternal first cousin, A.A .Shehu Shahabuddin (himself very articulate in English, both written and spoken), hence the moniker Professor; you are also a ‘baahu’ in your own immediate family of the renowned ‘Kalami Residence’, the confines of which houses, “ the finest human- being” of the contemporary Kayalpatnam.
May Allah bless you - one and all - the whole family !!! Wassalam
