It is time to take the message up to national level and to get the message across to other environmental activists. This is not the problem of kaylpatnam alone, but also for the other villages around this area and particularly it is disastrous for fishermen community.
As insisted in the past, people should avoid consuming the fish comes from this area as much as possible.
It may be advisable for the town to take legal injunction against DCW's expansion project and bring them to compliance. There should also be legal case should the government officials and politicians whoever failed to implement environmental regulations properly.
The untrustworthy public officials don't really care about common people. Politicians surely not going to heed the cry unless they find personal gains. The town should take calculated and collection action and it should be inclusive of neighboring towns as well.
In the due process, you will also find people selling themselves out to the power brokers and also there will be divisive elements make attempts to split the people and make the voice weaker. Therefore, let all the decisions be taken through consensus among all parties - regardless of their religious background and where they come from - without giving rooms for any section to feel them being left out.
As a side note, in my opinion, kayalpatnam people should have backed Koodamkulam people as well. Likewise the concerns of Kayalpatnam, people from Koodamkulam fear similar mismanagement.
