President's address to the nation is an alarming signal to the Prime Minister, to the Parliament, Judiciary and to all other law making bodies and Cheif Ministers of all States. It is due to the failure of the government machinery on the whole. The failure of Election Commission, the failure of so many Commissions recommending so reforms, but keeping quite after sending their reports not caring for implementation of the reports in letter and spirit.

In the name of democracy we are allowing hooliganism. rowdyism in all fields and letting out the culprits on bail rather than putting them in jail. We are convicting the wrong doers but seeking their financial help during elections. The corruption goes unchecked or simply sidelined. We are much worrried about the next election rather than we worry about the next generation.So if nation wants to march toward progress all above things should be brought under control.

Now that the General Elections are ahead, every political party is worried about the quantity of seat adjustments in the Parliament. Even the ruling Congress, once famous for its sefless service to the nation, is looking forward seeking new partners from the dissident group of oppositions, who till yesterday, put Congress in dock.

If the honourable President's Republic Day Address can put the constitutional amendments widely and immediately, implement the Verma Commission Report and Sachaar Commission Report forthwith, then we can see a ray of hope of united india. Otherwise, it will be another public meeting speech made by a Congressman, Mr Pranab Mukerjee.
