Automation Vs Adi pump posted byahamed mustafa (Dubai)[10 April 2011] IP: 91.*.*.* United Arab Emirates | Comment Reference Number: 3867
Gents, Whilst agreeing the social implications theory as to how the erstwhile Hand pump affects the common poor, we can not even rule out what modernity & technology to do with this subject of concern now.Years back owning of a cell phone was a luxury & unaffordable. Now the increasing advent of Technology has brought this tiny instrument within the reach of the common poor as well. Likewise the the usage of Motors is almost inevitable, given the reach of Technology to the common man. We can even say,5 or 10 years from now this Motorised pump sets will appear ancient.Down the line we can run this motor or fill our tanks up with the click of a button from our Laptop or notebooks. It is so easy a Technology that we nowadays run huge equipment remotely by the click of a button. I am sure the manufacturing of the so called Handpumps or Push pump will cease.Eventhough I go with Technology, still in our house at Kayalpatnam, we use the old type of Pump to deliver the water & we have not yet transformed even to the Motors to suck water, for sure..5 years from now, the guy who is sucking the water via pumps will complain against the man who is automating his pump with a touchscreen. This is how life goes.Just my take on this subject without any hidden agenda Wassalam.
