ஐக்கிய பேரவை கூட்டம் நிறை... posted byRiluvan (Michigan)[08 September 2011] IP: 99.*.*.* United States | Comment Reference Number: 7807
Who are those qualified to elect the 25 members? Are they elected members of Aykkiya Jamath? If not, this is clearly a ploy to hijack the process, period. As long as Aykkiya Jamath members truly represent the people (means elected by the people of Kayalpatnam), it is OK, otherwise this is undemocratic and condemnable.
Overdoing anything will have consequences. There is a moderate middle-path and I suppose people in kayalpatnam aren't incapable of reading between the lines.
IMO, the groups are overreaching on their responsibilities. A socially responsible group will do the following:
a) Educate people on democratic process
b) Educate people on what is at stake
c) Educate people on consequences of making mistake
d) Educate people on why it should be done right
e) Educate people about the candidates
Organize... Educate... Guide..., then step back and let people make their conscious choice. Attempting to overreach will make these organizations expendable. Discontent will become unavoidable.
The choice is upon the grownup individuals.
Attempting to project single candidate is a "guilty by choice" intimidation. Most will be forced to vote for the choice without mentally processing and digesting why they vote somebody. All they will say “Aykkiya Jamath” asking me to do so.
There is a government run electoral process to elect the town president. The idea proposed by Aykkiya Jamath appears to nullify this democratic process and eliminate the public at large from their due rights and a handful few attempting to make the choice for rest of the town.
There are people in Aykkiya Jamath doing many good things to Kayalpatnam. That doesn't mean that they own rights over the others. Any good deeds should be done in the right spirit without expectations. Kayalpatnam is a town of people, not cattle. Help people to mature. How long kayalpatnam can afford to have a handful few making decisions for the rest?
