Collecting such an amount from general public is a Herculean Task. Aikkiya Peravai (A.P) did it in a very short time. A.P's effort should be congratulated.
As far as the the land deal between A.P. and E.B. is concern, Rs 100 for a cent ? The amount it received from government (E.B.) is very very low.
( Rs 9,000 for an acre that works out to Rs 90 /cent not Rs 100)
When we buy a land, we need to pay stamp duty (I think 9% of the value) according to the rate fixed by government. Government has fixed the land rate and it varies from area to area. Nowhere in Kayalpatnam government's rate is as low as Rs 100 / cent. That too near Thulir school ...?. Impossible.
I suggest Kayalpatnam.com to write to Tamil Nadu government using RTI to find out the government fixed rate for that particular land and help AP to get the fair, if not better deal from the E.B.
