I am sure there are a lot out there who would agree with Sajith's comment just as many expressed discomfort with his comments. Irony is people are not bold enough to put up with the factual.

The 25 unelected people have effectively exercised their undemocratic power by filtering out the candidates on their own. I condemn this undemocratic act. My pet peeve is people are so much ignorant of people's rights and basic understanding of democracy - representational governance. However, there is nothing to blame on whoever was elected. Blame is on the mohalla representatives who didn’t even spend time to validate

a) What is the personal capacity of the candidate?

b) Will the candidate attend every panchayat meeting?

c) Will the candidate take effective actions against corruption?

d) Will the candidate refrain from nepotism and any form of favoritism?

e) What is the candidate's knowledge about governance?

None of these were asked. The point is - now none of the mohallas have any rights whatsoever to question, because they lost their moments and if they don't agree with the candidate now, I've just one request to those mohalla candidates which is, stand in front of the mirror and tell you "Shame on me, I let down not only myself, by my mohalla too!!". What can be asked from those who fitfully refuse to use sixth sense? Why some venture into representation other when unwilling to critically analyze the options and unable to decipher the context and the situation?

Now, I also admire those candidates who are brave enough to reject undemocratic conditions and went up to field them. Unity is a necessity, but unity should come out of real understand and strong desire to justice. It is shameful that people who never fail to invoke religion for every simple itch but fail to stand up against trickery and treachery.

My request is to the people of kayalpatnam – If you think your unelected representative don’t represent your honest and true desire, be open about it. It is your right to speak your mind. It is your life is on the line and it is only human born with sixth sense simply for a reason to cross-examine and rationally think and absolutely not to follow the herd.

Without validating candidate’s capability – please don’t vote for anybody. If you don’t know what democracy is, I humbly beg you, please don’t vote at all.
