Brother Cnash;
I went through Mowlavi Mogdoom's letter to Rizana's parents. It does not look like I have any thing drastic omitted from that letter. Mowlavi says Rizana with a Karnataka translator, immediately after the arrest, admitted the crime and with the second translator from Tamilnadu, who was appointed as she agitated, denied the crime. This alone shows her true standing. The rest I have already mentioned.
Amnesty International Spokeswoman Stephanie Farrior once said " inadequate trial procedures and feeble evidence requirements employed a range of torture techniques, including beating of the soles of the feet, use of electric shock devices and the extraction of nails to obtain confessions”.
“Defendants are rarely allowed formal representation by a lawyer and in many cases are kept in the dark about the progress of legal proceedings against them." Amnesty International said.
Also Mowlavi Mogdoom says
As far as the outside world is concerned there is no trace of postmortem in Saudi or in any other country. Even you have not come out what other country is. On the other hand the news is that the police failed to do postmortem which the government does not seem to have denied. Further a medical doctor's presence is vital for a murder case. Do not know who the doctor was.
Actually from the beginning I say the FIR that was filed against Rizana with Madam's version only, was one sided- biased. From here the camel went into the wrong desert. So I leave it to the readers to decide every thing that took place in Madam's house was just and fair or not. If they feel it is unjust- unfair then the whole thing could be unjust. Judgements are made not only by law and evidence but also using common sense.
Medical experts say there are chances for a baby to get chocked while drinking milk thus causing natural death. I listened to the Kuthba speech submitted here where the imam says, Rizana குழந்தையின் கழுத்தை தடவினாள். But மருத்துவ அறிக்கை அவர் கழுத்தை நசுக்கி கொலை செய்துள்ளதை உறுதி செய்துள்ளது என்று கூறுகிறார்கள்.
By any means the world feels it was the gross negligence of the Madam that brought this disaster for which she is responsible. That is my point too chiefly. The young servant was only 18 days old. Madam says Rizana was angry, had argument bla bla..... Under that condition how can you entrust your precious baby to a stranger? My dear reader, will your wife or sister leave her baby that way under this circumstance?
You handed over your brand new Mercedes Benz to a new driver, newly obtained his driving license. Now you say he knocked- damaged your car. Who is responsible for this damage? Let readers decide.
Every week some one is beheaded in Saudi. No body talks big about it. There are 45 Filipinos under death sentence. None is shouting in the streets. Rizana is not the first Sri Lankan to be chopped head. Why so much noise for her? Because they feel she is not guilty. It is the Madam.
Professor M Haris Z Deen analyzing Rizana Nafeek’s killing has pointed out that” If Saudi Arabia followed the law of the country in beheading Rizana, it is their law and should not compare with the Islamic Shari’ah”.
Br Cnash, two British nurses convicted of murder in 1997, were allowed to go home following a visit to the country by Tony Blair. There are more cases. Britain and Saudi have a long standing "friendship and cooperation" treaty. The House of Saud cannot deny request from the west. If you study the biography of Abdul Azia bin Abdul Rahman and the birth of Saudi Arabia you may know.
I am a freelance writer. We do not write without proof in hand. Otherwise we face the risk of being sued. I used to speak over Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation where nobody ever checked my script. What ever I write gets published without any editing in many countries.
It is only the wealthy permitted to employ servants. Why are there so many cases of non payment of salary for months and years in addition to hard working condition? $200 is a coffe - Kawa money for them. We put our head down when foreigners talk to us on such subjects.
Finally, our-my faith in Islam is not inferior to that of people living in Saudi or KPM. Personally I fight for issues that I feel I should in the international forum. When the hijab subject was raised in France, I fought with the western media. Further I am close to Barak Obama group. When he allowed same sex marriage I wrote to him against that and had arguments in the media.
I wish to end Rizana's saga with this. For the benefit of more readers, I shall be thankful to the admin if this could be translated in Tamil.
This fire brand writer Latheef Farook was my classmate. He worked in Dubai with Gulf News and Khaleej Times for nearly 30 years. It was I who pushed him to go to Dubai.
