The wife of a former US President said "When you get your head above the crowd, you will be criticised". So, get used to criticism. Your use of the term "GodFather" is not the problem here.
For those who thought GodFather means Father of God, or Fatherly God or something associated only with Christians, then some amount of Italian Mafia History may help
During the 1950s or 60s, in the Cities where the mafia were active, each boy had two fathers: A biological father & a GodFather. This GodFather is not someone who baptised him. Because of the crimes, a boy needed two fathers to protect him.
The suggestion / idea to avoid a term just because it is associated with a Christian activity doesn't make any sense. If you don't understand a word, learn it.
