பிப்ரவரி 2005 இல் கூகுள் (Google) நிறுவனம் கூகுள் மாப்ஸ் (Google Maps) என்ற சேவையை துவக்கியது. அச்சேவை மூலம் நம் நகரங்களை, கிராமங்களை விண்ணில் இருந்து பார்க்கும் வசதி அனைவருக்கும் கிடைத்தது. அச்சேவையை பயன்படுத்திய பலர் தங்கள் இல்லங்களையும், தங்களுக்கு பிரச்சியமான இடங்களையும் பார்த்து மகிழ்ந்தனர். இதில் காயலர்களும் அடங்கும். கூகுள் மாப்ஸ் சேவையில் காயல்பட்டண காட்சி இதுதான்.
இதற்கிடையில் இந்திய விண்வெளி மையமான இஸ்ரோ (ISRO) புவன் (Bhuvan) என்ற கூகுள் மாப்ஸ் போன்ற சேவையை கடந்த வருடம் (2009) ஆகஸ்ட் மாதம் துவக்கியது. அதன் பிறகு இவ்வருடம் செப்டம்பர் மாதம் இஸ்ரோ புவன் (Bhuvan) சேவையின் புதிய வடிவத்தை (Stable Beta Version) வெளியிட்டது. அதிலும் விண்ணில் இருந்து காயல்பட்டணத்தை காணும் காட்சி உண்டு. கூகுள் அளவுக்கு அருகில் காட்சிகள் புவனில் காண கிடைக்காவிட்டாலும் காயல்பட்டணத்தின் பிரதான ஸ்தலங்களை காண முடிகிறது.
அவ்வாறு தெளிவாக தெரியும் காட்சிகளில் ஒன்று காயல்பட்டணத்தின் வடக்கு எல்லையில் அமைந்துள்ள DCW தொழிற்சாலையும், அதனையொட்டி ஓடும் வண்ணமிகு நீரோடமும்!

We are worrying every day about this issue and trying our level best to initiate from our end. We recently discussed the same issue with H`ble MP Abdul Rahman who came to Qatar couple of weeks ago.
All kayalties from local and abraod should understand the issues first and form a team in kayal to act against DCW.
Please understand DCW is not alone cause for cancer and there are other factors like Mobile towers and our food culture also part of it.

The comments from Mr.Fazul kareem is true.The surprise think is why our leaders in KPM and our municipality not take any action like Sterlite factory(Atleast pollution control).Why not we apply to the court and request the pollution control details under the LAW of "THAKAVAL ARIYUM SATTEM". Before making allegations against DCW, we must get our facts right. A mere suspicion will not be sufficient before court of law or any other forum. We must also remember our suspicions can be wrong too and could get us all in legal troubles.
If we suspect the waste DCW lets into Sea has dangerous chemicals, we must get the sample tested in a good lab. If we suspect the air DCW lets out is dangerous, we must get the air sample analysed through appropriate processes. If we believe our ground waters are contaminated by manufacturing processes in DCW, those living close to DCW must get their ground water analysed.
Without taking all these steps, if we continue to make allegations, we will get nowhere with the authorities.
Also as Bro.Fazul Kareem said - DCW is just one candidate for reasons in spurt in Cancer in Kayalpatnam. Mobile towers and Food habits are others. We must also not forget smoking, second-hand smoking, tobacco usage, chemicals in other food items, excessive chlorine in Municipality water supply etc are all additional factors.
