தமிழ்நாடு வக்பு வாரியம் சார்பில், மயிலாடுதுறையில் மருத்துவக் கல்லூரி தொடங்கப்பட உள்ளது. இதற்கான ஆலோசனைக் கூட்டம், சென்னையில் தமிழ்நாடு வக்பு வாரியத் தலைவர் கவிக்கோ எஸ்.அப்துல்ரகுமான் தலைமையில் நடந்தது. இதயதுல்லா, சிக்கந்தர், சாதிக் ஆகியோர் பங்கேற்றனர். கூட்டத்துக்குப் பிறகு கவிக்கோ அப்துல்ரகுமான் கூறியதாவது:

தமிழ்நாடு வக்பு வாரியமும், நீடூர் ஜாமியா மிஸ்பாஹுல் ஹுதா மதரஸா நிர்வாகமும் இணைந்து, மயிலாடுதுறை நீடூரில் 50 ஏக்கர் நிலப்பரப்பில் முஸ்லிம் சமுதாயத்துக்காக மருத்துவக் கல்லூரி தொடங்கப்பட உள்ளது. இந்த கல்லூரி லாப நோக்கில் செயல்படாது. அரசு நிர்ணயித்த கட்டணம் மட்டுமே வசூலிக்கப்படும்.மருத்துவக் கல்லூரி தொடங்க ரூ.60 கோடி தேவை. இந்த பணத்தை மருத்துவக் கல்லூரியும், பொதுக்குழு உறுப்பினராக விரும்புபவர்களும் ஜமாத், தொழிலதிபர்கள் ஆகியோர் ரூ.10 லட்சம் வீதம் நன்கொடை வழங்கலாம். நன்கொடை வழங்கும் குடும்பத்தாரின் வாரிசுதாரர் ஒருவருக்கு மெடிக்கல் சீட் வழங்கப்படும். ரூ.1 கோடி தருபவர்களின் பெயர்கள் மருத்துவக் கல்லூரி வகுப்பறைகளுக்கும், சாலைகளுக்கும் சூட்டப்படும்.

மருத்துவக் கல்லூரியின் கட்டுமானப் பணி தொடங்கப்பட்டு விட்டது. அதற்கு முன்பு 300 படுக்கைகள் கொண்ட மருத்துவமனை கட்டப்படும். முறைப்படி அனுமதி பெற்று, 2012ம் ஆண்டு கல்லூரி தொடங்கப்படும்.

இவ்வாறு அவர் தெரிவித்தார்.

Assalamualaikkum,

This is good news for us and we appreciate / pray for those whoever involves in the formation of medical college for Muslim. However, it is not honest that the management promotes the admission of inefficient pupil belonging to rich family in the name of donation especially in the field of medicine. (For them Rs. 10 Lakh is nothing when there is a guarantee for a medical seat when their child is not that much fit for medical seat). Some rich people may start to think of depositing 50 Lakhs as donation now to make sure that 5 incapable students from their family get admission in the near future for medical seat. Shall we expect an excellent and efficient services from these doctors for our society?.

Riyadh Lebbai அவர்கள் கருத்து முற்றிலும் ஏற்றுக்கொள்ளப்படவேண்டியது. இன்றைய காலகட்டத்தில் 10 லட்சம் என்பது ஒரு அற்பத்தொகையே ! எனவே தமிழக மருத்துவ கல்வித்துறை சட்டங்களுக்கு உட்பட்டு மாணவர் சேர்க்கை நடைபெறவேண்டும். வேண்டுமானால் நம் சமுதாயத்தினருக்கு ஒருசில சலுகைகள் கொடுக்கலாம். இல்லையேல், மருத்துவக்கல்வி என்பது ஒரு மலிவான கல்வி என்று ஆகி விடும்.

This morning there was a meeting of social workers in Chennai. Here is what Br. Ubaidullah (one of the trustees) told: In the first 5 years, everybody has to pay. No free seats for the donors. Also, not every donor has been asking for a seat. The free seats for the donors will be decided based on lots (Kulukkal murai).

I was a sceptic too when i came to know of this medical college. In fact, i gave them this feedback: "A Muslim medical college would be a great idea PROVIDED poor Muslim students get free or cheap education. The examples from Muslim Engineering Colleges aren't very encouraging". Today, i came to realize that it is not just for the donors. I think they said 40 seats may goto donors. The remaining 25 from the management quota would be for non-donors. And, there is no capitation fee.

Assalamualaikum,

Just I want to clarify something, (40 seats for donors + 25 seats from mgt quota).

I guess this 25 seats mgt. quote will be continued for every year. Will these seats be allotted even if the students get low cut off marks? What is the criteria being used for allotting medical seats (I mean min. cut-off)? Then where is the fairness- for a hard working Muslim students who slip the medical seats with just .01 cut off marks who do not come under these quota?. Can the management give preference to these hard working students than (donor +mgt) quota students as the situation demands?

The reason why I put my concern here is that the medical college would be inaugurated under the name of Muslim Minority Scheme and all the benefits being distributed by the government for the minorities will be enjoyed by this college, that too the wakf board land will be utilized for the construction. I don’t have any bad intention but to make sure that any merit students (poor / rich students who are not under donor or mgt. quota) should not be affected.
